Hi

I have a normal electric over-bath shower. To tidy it up, and maximise the performance available, I've been told it is possible to fit a fixed riser rail/head to the shower. This would put the 'rain' type shower head more directly over the user's head. Is there any technical reason why this should not be done ? I've tried this with a simple extension to the existing hose, and it seems to work OK. The alternative would be to replace the shower with a mixer arrangement, but we don't always have a supply of hot water available.

Thanks.

Because electric showers have a pitiful flow rate and are designed only to be used with the crappy showerheads made for use with electric showers.

as Dan correctly says your electric shower will only operate correctly within a range of flow rates and the shower head that was supplied with it can accomodate these flow rates , if you install a different shower head that can allow different flow rates then your shower will not operate properly

It is entirely feasible if you can find a 3" shower rose.
Not exactly what you want, but most of us will be able to plss faster than an electric shower.
