May I have the benefit of your experience please?

Once I have cut through a 9 inch solid brick wall to make a doorway, l will have to fit the supplied 130mm x 29mm door frame kit to the brickwork opening which will obviously be a little rough.

What should I use to fix the frame, nails into the mortar joints or screws and rawlplugs into the brickwork?

Googling "door frame fixing" only seems to come up with metal door frames (USA bias?)

Thank you to all the regular professionals on this site who help us amateurs to avoid costly mistakes - you really are appreciated.

Screws and plugs or frame fixings into the bricks is the most solid way - I prefer to use 100mm frame fixings to accommadate any voids in brickwork.
If you are left with big gaps between the brick and frame after fitting, squirt in some expanding foam which will also act as an extra adhesive fixing.

If you have not already cut the opening for the doorframe, I'd suggest that you cut the opening, at least 3/4" wider than the doorframe . When you fix the frame, you can pack it out to ensure it/s plumb and straight. I have seen people cut openings far too tight, then had problems fitting the frame. ;) ;)

Hope the walls not supporting
You can use structural adhesive foam which gives a very solid fix .
Nice long frame fixings as suggested.

Yes it is a supporting wall - I have marked th positions of the joists and will be fitting (2) 65 x 100 lintels before cutting the doorway!
thanks
