Hello,

I'm new to these forums (as a poster at least) so please be gentle with me.

I've taken the plaster off my bathroom walls and plan on dot & dabbing (d&d) plasterboard for the most part and Aquapanel around the shower.

Now I know this will cause uproar with some as officially you can't d&d Aquapanel but I've read here that if you d&d it and then attach through fixings all is well.

I want to try this method but don't know exactly what 'through fixings' are, I've tried doing web searches but found nothing. I saw on the other post that they look similar to this:

http://www.screwfix.com/prods/96876/Fixings/Frame-Fixings/Fischer-FUS-Frame-Fixing-10x60

Does this mean they are them or should I be looking for something else ?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Craig

Those are through fixings.

I personally would not bother with the aqua panel as I find plasterboard coated with a tanking kit works equally well.

Am doing something similar myself and have bought standard 12.5mm plasterboard, plus BAL tanking kit. So am I right in thinking that, when using dot and dab, fixings are only needed for Aquapanel and not for standard plasterboard? The plasterboard will be tiled, so I guess that adds weight...

Cheers.

That right no fixings needed for plasterboard, they are only needed for aquapanel as it does not stick to PB adhesive.

I also prefer to use PB and tank it
