FIXING IKEA WALL CABINETS IN NEW BUILD HOUSE

I will be fixing new Ikea wall cabinets in a house which is only 3 years old and the plasterboard is not fixed onto the breezeblock with battens so I am at a loss as to how to fix them up.

If the fixing point of the wall units is at a regular height then it is possible to chase in and fix a batten or a swathe of thick ply as a fixing point.

Otherwise just use longer screws.

what type of wall cabinets, ie weight and use.
Normally you'd plug and screw them in.
The wall is dot'n'dab wall, so masonary will be about 10-30mm otherside of board.

the walls are 'dot & dab' and the cabinets are standard Ikea wall cabinets for kitchen use size 92cm. my husband tells me he is going to screw them directly into the 'breezeblock' and plug and screw, will this be enough ?

I would be inclined to use something like 75mm/5's (3"/10's).
