Hi, we have a one sided bay window and the ceiling above it has been over boarded and skimmed. Looking to fit a curtain track and roller blind into it but not sure what fixings to use given the double layer of plasterboard? The normal plasterboard fixings require a cavity behind so would a decent rawl plug work?

Get a rare earth magnet and find the board nails and screws in the board.
Might be helpful with locating joists.
I'd then consider fixing timber to ceiling with no nails and a few screws having found a few joists.
Then fix rail to wood
