Hello
I'm looking at rectifying a sagging floor by sistering the existing joists with new. As the sleeper wall at mid span is part demolished the intention is to fit new (bigger) joists that will span the full width without the need for the sleeper wall (about 3.2m).
The intention is to hang the new joists on hangers and bolt through to the old joists. I intend on using Type S hangars and will obviously need to rake out the joint to locate the hangar. Once the hangar is installed do I need to point up the wall to bed the hangar, or are these just laid on to the top of the brick course? I can't see any 'fixing' instructions anywhere.
Grateful for any assistance
Alan.
