Hi,
I've a kitchen wall cupboard to attach to a brick wall, that has a 100mm insulation + 9mm plasterboard, dot n dabbed onto it.
I've searched on here a bit about this, but although lots of posts about plasterboard, I cannot find any over such a distance.
This is my idea, is it sensible?
Use 6 x 160mm frame fixings, to attach 2 horizontal battens to the brick (3 per batten) that should give me 30mm in the actual brick.
Would that give me enough strength over such a distance? I assume by using two battens (at top and middle of cupboard) that the weight will be spread. I thought about using some shield anchor fittings, but I thought that when I start tightening them them may compress and damage the plasterboard. Plus unless I am careful they will protrude from the batten.
Waddayathink?
Cheers
