Hello,

what is the best method for fixing shower enclosure to wall.

The wall is currently Dott and Dabb but will be tiled over. I have asked previously and was recommended using wall plugs but do not have much faith as the plasterboard is hollow where the fixing will be.

I was going to cut a piece of plaster board out and filll the void with cement so I got something solid to put plug in. Is this a good idea.

Can anyone advise of a better method before I tile. I am sure you lads will have come across this before.

Thank you in advance for any help

In reality the shower screen rail will spread the load and prevent the plasterboard collapsing. Personally i would drill into wall itself and use long enough screws to ensure a solid fixing there rather than trying to fix into some mortar stuck on the outside

Thank you for your advice I do appreciate it.
