The indicator flasher unit on our peugeot 306 is clicking randomly, the lights don't flash, just the unit makes the sound. Dodgy f-unit or indicator stalk problem? Thanks.

I would check the relay located in the fuse box i suspect

had the same prob`s with the wifes 306 ,fitted new stalk to cure it. Try moving the stalk switch while it`s happening to see if it stop`s 
p.s i `d already changed the flasher unit,it didn`t cure it !!!

Had the same problem with my 405 never did anything about it and it went away for a while then started again then stopped again??? I think the problem is with the stalk because if you fiddle around with it, but without actually engaging it, it stops. Not serious but very annoying.
