Hi all,
I'm new to the joys (and horrors!) of home ownership after years of renting and this site has been brilliant for helping me out.
I think I've managed to narrow down a damp issue to a wall where a 2016 wrap-around extension meets the original building. It is directly below this:
(Apologies, I had to use a large mirror to look around the corner from an upstairs window because I'm unsure about walking out onto the extension roof).
I'm wondering how likely it is that water is getting into that gap as it shoots out of the downpipe and then down into the wall. Or should the way the tiles are laid prevent that?
I'm really hoping this could be a simple fix, but the repointing work makes me think that there may be an existing problem from higher up. Unfortunately I'm not in touch with the previous owners to find out any history.
Thanks for any advice or pointers.
