We are about to install an edwardian conservatory within the next fe weeks. Our only concern is that tha roof will be sited against a UPVC clad exterior wall.Speaking to a few people in th trade we are told it is becoming more comon now for installers to use a sealent between the roof frame and the UPVC cladding in these situations where lead flashing is not really an option.
The roof will obviously be pitced at an angle against the cladding so cutting into the cladding for lead flashing is not really an option
Any comments regarding this along with advice would be much appreciated

A case really of making the best of a bad situation.. if lead is out then a sealent, as long as it serves its purpose long term is the only option unless anyone has any other ideas.

Is there any reason why you cannot cut into the cladding ? or is it because you're having cladding inside the conservatory as a internal wall as well ?

Bearing in mind how are they going to fit the conservatory end frame against the cladding which is fitted on battens and not the brickwork ?
