Flat roof and gravel question

Hiya, this is my first question here.
I have a flat roof approx 16'x14', it seems to be in good condition although a very shallow puddle sits on about 1/6 after rain.

Hopefully soon I will be getting it decked but at the moment it is all I can see out of my lounge window and I would like to cover it with some of the gravel left over from pebbledashing the house. Would this be a good idea, or would it stop the puddle evaporating?

if as you say you are getting it decked soon then i wouldnt worry too much about it.....stick a couple of goldfish in it and voila.......a pond
