Flat roof into a ptich roof

HI,

I have a detached garage that is 9ft wide x 19ft long. It has a flat roof that is beginning to leak. I would like to try and replace the flat roof including the boards. But I would like it to have a small pitch. How do I calculate the pitch. Is their some ratio I need to follow and how would I do this? Please help

Minimum 15 degree pitch but will need building permisson which is straight forward even without a drawing !!!!

Thanks for the reply. Do I need to get permission even it is a small pitch (just enough for the water to run down).

Possibly. Give the local building control office a call. If you call them before you start a job, they can be really helpfull.
