I have a garage with a flat roof.

No leaks, the felt is in decent condition. I just wondered what maintenance is needed to keep it in good condition.

Before anyone suggests it, I have looked at previous posts! I know, it's a rare occurrence that someone checks past posts!

I note that @^woody^ often suggests a clean and brush now and then. Which I have done.
But, I have noticed it is loosing a lot of it's chippings over time. A good amount ending up in the gutters over time.

Is it worth giving it a coat of something simple, some kind of flat roof paint?

Or painting it with a layer of cold gritting roofing adhesive and spreading a new layer of chippings?

Other than that the roof is sound, no cracks etc. So I'd rather maintain it while it is in good condition.

If sound worth spreading a thin layer of new chippings they help to deflect heat from the black roof.
