flat roof

hello ,
need a bit of advice. my property has been extended at the back and i have a flat roof on the extension.
i plan to clean my windows this summer. is it safe to stand on the flat roof to clean the back windows?
also how long does the flat roofs last? i am told i need to re-roof them after some years.

Anyway, if you put a board on the roof and stand on that it will be fine. I'm sure it will be OK anyway but best be on the safe side.

It'll need replacing/repairing when it leaks, funnily enough
