flexible tap tails

ive recently purchased a mono mixer but the flexible conectors at the supply end are different. They both have 15mm compression connectors but one of them is longer and the hole inside looks different (ceramic/plastic). So my problem is this.the instructiions dont state wether the longer one is for the hot or cold supply

Usually hot goes to the left side. You can always test by blowing into one with the tap turned maximum hot.

One is longer then the other so you can tighten the flexi's easily on these type of taps,remember when you pipe it up the hot feed is on the left and cold on the right

It doesn't usually make any difference which flexi goes in which hole in the tap body, the length difference is just so the hexagonal sections don't clash when you fit them.

Just make sure you connect the hot inlet to the hot water pipe.

thanks for the replies but the actual length of the 2 hoses is the same its just the compression conections on the end that differ in size. Apparently the longer one contains a one way valve but im still non the wiser as to which feed to connect it to.

ps: the hexagonal sections line up side by side when the hoses have been screwed into th tap

Non return valve should be on the mains cold which would be on the right.

Do you have a gravity fed hot water system? If so, the mixer and flexibles may not pass enough hot water due to the low pressure. These are intended for pressurised hot water - from a combi, multipoint, or unvented cylinder.

The good old British low pressure system is unknown in the rest of Europe.
