This has been raised and passed reg to allow my chimney to be removed to nearly the roof line for the loft conversion . But looking at the drawing i am confused.
the draftsman has written
" 150*110 flitch beam made of 2No 150*50 C16 timbers etc etc" understand the beam construction.
But what is 2No? is it something really simply i am missing,
ie i get it a "timber metal timber"
He has drawn a beam that follows the current rafters with a flat for the chimney to sit on. Welding of the metal in the beam.
When bolts are specified are these a standard grade 10.9 rather than 12.9
Will get back to the designer but just curious before chasing him
