During Monday's downpour, most of our garden flooded. It slopes very genlty away from the house, and everything but the bit nearest the house was upto a foot underwater. (Think due to blocked storm drain, I live well above sea level and away from any rivers/becks).

Noticed that the carpet was wet in the house. After puilling up downstairs flooring, we found the ground floor was flooding. (The house has all solid concrete floors).

We assumed the water must be coming up through the floor.

Is this a correct assumption?

Can anyone throw any light possible causes solutions?

Thanks in advance

Either (a) pump out the water, or (b) wait for it to subside.

In the long term, move somewhere higher up.
