Hello,

I am in the middle of building a house and am learning as the process goes, so please excuse my general lack of knowledge on the subject !

Currently I am looking to handle the floor insulation and heating and was wondering how good the YBS SuperQuilt would be for that purpose ? I am limited in space because I do not want to exceed 100-110 mm in total, preferably with all the finishing layers included.

I was thinking that I may use 40 mm of the YBS SuperQuilt, then the Rehau Varionova with 11 mm insulation included (mostly because I did not see an option to get it without the insulation), then the pipes for the heating system and then all the finishing layers. Does this make any sense and would it provide a reasonable level of insulation for the limited space I have ?

Thanks in advance for any help!

So should I just stick with XPS ? Would it make sense to add a thin layer of aluminium foil-based insulation on top of it for its reflective properties ?

Yes but most XPS already has such a layer.
