I would like to know what peoples thoughts are on floor insulation. I am thinking of ripping up my fllorboards on the ground floor and laying a mesh between the joists before filling in with mineral wool. I've heard people using 'netlon' what is netlon? Are there any diwnsides to this?

just remember that a good airflow through timber floors is paramount in keeping them "healthy".

If the boards are in fair condition- don't bother. I had to take mine up due to rot problem. If you lay insulation as you say- you must not lay in positions-hot pipes- near airbricks- and places of low air circulation (alcoves). That's how I read it. Further- I would use wire netting for safety-plastic burns well!
