digging up the kitchen floor to re lay and insulate it- currently just 1 inch of cement with tiles directly on soil.
plan is total depth of 435mm -
200mm hardcore and DPM
100mm reinforced concrete slab
75mm insulation
65mm screen
test pits have shown the top of the footings to be 430 deep- so should be no issue here, however found a 2 foot span of one wall that the bottom of them is only 350 deep- as per the pics, the other side of the wall is the cellar entrance- the floor of which is level with the bottom of these footings
any advice on how to proceed or is this a 'get the structural engineer out'
also digging this close to footings would building regs need to sign anything off (they're already lined up to check after the hardcore and dpm is in.
