Floor Sanding - Sanding Sheets

A quick question that someone here may be able to help with.

I need to sand four or more rooms and a hallway in my house. The floorboards are fit for purpose and in the long run better (£) than carpetting throughout.

I would like to avoid though paying £2.50+ per sheet though at the hire stores when they can be purchased for much less at eBay and various places - i.e. well under half price at under £10 for ten sheets. The problem is matching the sheets with the hired sander..

Via a company like HSS (who have a sale at present - £20pd for a sander) I would probably need about thirty or more assorted grain sheets (i.e. best part of a hundred pounds on top)

Has anyone any experience with knowing which sheets fit machines from any of the leading hire companies?

Why not ask the hire company. Tell them there are expensive, they may then do a deal with you.

Possibly, but I assume the underling in a nationwide chain will have less flexibility to knock down their prices, and in the unlikely event they could, their marginal offer would still not be half price or less than the sale price which is what the 'universal' sheets offered on eBay and the like seem to go for.

I was just rather hoping for some confirmation that a certain sheet fitted a certain machine.

Try an independant company then.
They all have flexibility & they will do sale or return

I got HSS to throw the sanding sheets in for free, but they did mess me around a bit when the first machine I collected was faulty.
