Hello,

Going to give sand and cement screeding a go. Don’t think I’ve quite got the skills to build up my levels with screed around the perimeter and work of this for my levels.

So would it be possible to set a timber batten around the perimeter for my level and work of this to get a flush level finish? I could leave a gap around the batten to unscrew and pullout once screed is dry and then infill the gap with floor leveller/screed

Current floor is made up of a concrete pad, insulation and then polythene sheet.
Thanks

Don't underestimate the amount of work involved. you don't say the area to be worked, nor the depth of screed required.
You don't need to screw fix the battens, you can set them in some screed, spaced at suitable intervals. Removing them when you've set the adjacent levels.
You can employ this method across the middle of the floor also, pulling up each batten as you progress, and as you've set the adjacent levels.

Are you mixing it yourself?

How thick will the screed layer be?

Why not bed a rigid piece of say iron gas pipe (screed rail), on some screed and level it, then run your levels off this. You will be able to slide the screed rail as you move across the floor and back fill the gap as you go.
