I have had to remove an under-worktop cupboard to make space for a tumble-dryer in my (very) small utility room. I have found that the floor tiles only go up to the plinth. I can't find matching floor tiles in any case but wonder if there is an alternative which would help to deaden the noise made by the dryer - they can probably hear it next door ! It is a new Hotpoint condenser type dryer. It is not possible to have a vented model. I have previously been able to have vented dryers and they were very much quieter.

Any suggestions regarding what I should put on the floor under the dryer would be very much appreciated. Also is it usual for condenser types to be very noisy or could it be faulty ?

Thanks in anticipation !

Hi Breezer - I had thought of trying a large rubber doormat, but wasn't sure if it would be thick enough or provide an even enough surface. Where would a suitable piece of rubber be available from ?
(Other than a doormat).
Thanks.
