hi
I have just bought 100 m2 of reclaimed pine flooring and have a few q.s before laying. They are going upstairs laid onto joists @ 16" 400mm centres boards are 7.5 X 3/4
Due to boards being re-sawn and quite wide I have decided not to secret nail doe to possible twist etc and to face nail 2 nails at each joist ( the old time tested way) I would like to use "L" brads at 50mm long but they are very expensive so would it be possible to buy the brads used for the floor nailing gun and separate them and use them manually (with hammer) and can I use say a biscuit jointer to join off the joist to save a bit of wood or am I just making work
btw is there a nail gun that fires those floor brads as well as ordinary nails, that may be an idea
many thanks
from a first time poster who has had lots of info off this site, cheers
