Flooring to wall - What to use to fill?

Hi guys,

At the bottom of our stairs there were sliding doors, which I've ripped out and added new skirting board and repainted to tidy up.

However, there is now a gap in the flooring, see attached pic. I wanted to fill it with something but haven't a clue what.. Just wondered if you experts had any ideas..

I've not had any experience with this, but in can you get something to fit from the section which sells moulding and trim.
Something like this:

The problem is if I chip out the old filler the gap is 47mm at one end and 22mm at the other, so not sure this would work.. I think the floor is stone, we inherited it so not 100% sure...

Struggling to see your pic well, but would some nice oak strips work. Like this:

Soz about the delay.. I'm not sure the strips would look right because of the difference in gap.. Some type of grey filler I think would be best any suggestions what would fill a gap that size?
