Hi all.
I`m laying the floor in my hallway with engineered wood (14mm) flooring. The problem I have is the front door threshold as it has its own threshold strip that has rubber inserts to seal between the door and the streshold strip (sill). I think its better to use this rather than the standard thrshhold strips. So how should I do it?
I think I need to buy some timber (15-16mm) to create a expansion gap for the wood to expand into while at the same time hiding the edges (or the first 5mm). My dad reckons I should just screw the threshold strip down on to the first piece of the floor, although there will be no expansion gap its small dimensions may make this a solution with the flooring carrying on as normal after that. What do you think?
By the way the hallway is around 4 metres long, around 1 metre in width altogh closer to 1.5 metres when taking into account doorways. There is a doorway at each end the hallway and two on each side, one of these being the front door.
Thanks.
