Floureon cctv kit

Hi need help with a couple of things got my hands on a floureon 4 cam cctv kit in with it is a Dvr it didn't come with a hard drive . When I tested it all worked fine had only one light on the front which I believe is the power , I then installed a 500gb hard drive (out of an old laptop) .now when I powered up I now have two lights on which I think is power and alarm indicator (which won't go off )does anyone know where I could get a detailed Manuel as the one I got dosnt really give you much detail and any idea how to get the alarm light off .

Not the type of harddrive you would normally fit ! Did you format it via the Dvr ?

Ye it auto formatted it does record had it running for about 4hrs and then played back some footage .

Would it be advisable NOT to use this harddrive ? Looking on the buying place they all look the same apart from some say 3.5 1tb hard drive thinking the one I used is a bit smaller in size thanks
