I have a Mira Realm shower with the large shower head and handheld bit. The manual says that it kicks out 25 litres/minute at 2 bar for just the large shower head (35 for both on!). My shower tray trap cannot handle this at all, so I'm looking to get two flow restrictors, one to fit on each outlet.

I have looked for them and seem to only be able to find them online, is there any shop/stockist that has them?

Thanks

Not quite that simple, I have a Log boiler stove, Thermal store and heat exchanger for hot water.

Both hot and cold are at 2 Bar (direct mains feed with pressure reducer)

Seems simple enough and 2 bar is nothing. Is this already installed and you are having problems with drainage now? or something you are planning on fitting?

Its all installed and shower tray overflows, I've managed to find a 7 l/min regulator from Plumb Centre so I about to go and get two. Thanks for your help.

It is a thermostatic shower, just turn down the flow on the shower, the problem you will find with restrictors is they are non adjustable and give a terrible shower, you would be better off fitting ballvalves and adjusting them exactly to your liking if people in the household don't understand or want to learn how to use it.

or better yet, sort out the trap problem, i have a 5 bar 300l unvented cylinder with a higher flow rate than that, feeding my shower no problem

Are you quite sure that your shower tray trap is not blocked?

With the proper size pipework fitted to the correct falls then they should handle a good flow rate.

Equally I cannot understand why you cannot just turn the shower flow rate down!

Since restrictors effectively lower the pressure to the head it will give a disappointing shower.

A better solution is to use epoxy resin to block some of the shower head holes.

Perhaps with a combination of lowering the pressure to about 1 Bar at the pressure reducing valve!

A: I've had a very good look and yes I'm sure. I have read up on it and it appears that the trap can only cope with 20 l/min.

A: My falls are not great and I cannot improve it as ground floor out to gully. 40mm pipe

A: Just the one control

A: going from 25 l/min I think there is room for reduction with out the dissapointment but point noted.

A better solution is to use epoxy resin to block some of the shower head holes.

A: Interesting, I'll consider other options if no luck with flow restrictors

Perhaps with a combination of lowering the pressure to about 1 Bar at the pressure reducing valve!

A: I could look at that but then it would take longer to run a bath, again I'll consider other options if no luck with flow restrictors.

Thanks

Apparently this comes with a 12l/m regulator, who installed it?
