I have a rad to change position in a room and fit a new rad. All the other rads in the house are pipes flow to the top of rad. Return to the bottom
It's a sealed system combi boiler. Would there be any benefit of piping fitting the new rad the same. Have never done it like that before. Is it so the tenant doesn't have to bend down to operate the trv as well?

Some say there is an efficiency benefit others don't but in the main I believe they are fitted like that to make the TRV easier to access, for the disabled/elderly etc. Ex Local authority houses were piped like that all the time.

If that's the way the pipe is ran and the rad is a like for like then no real need to change it.
