Flow Valve (cartridge) for fairfax shower

I am having to replace my flow valve (cartridge) to me recessed shower. I have removed the screw to the on / off tap but I can't seem to get the tap off to expose the cartridge. Can you give me any tips hints on how to do this without breaking the surrounding tiles ?

Sorry Dave, it's not a shower I know, however if you go onto 'The Shower Doctor's' web site they have loads of details there.
