Hi, first question on here, so be patient!

I've just had my house rewired. The electrician has put a baton light fitting in the bathroom with the understanding I'll replace it with a bathroom light fitting shortly. He did it this way because he said that most bathroom fittings are now designed to fit over a ceiling rose, so the wiring would not need amending. As yet, I've not found any that claim to be wired like this. Has he been feeding me a line so that he doesn't need to put a junction box in the ceiling void, or do these fittings exist? he keeps claiming he'll email me details of various fittings, but never seems to get round to it. Any ideas? And, thanks in advance.

There are many items that can be used like for like replacements, how-ever putting in a Junction box in the Cieling void is not allowed.

You will probably be better having a look online for something your after and asking again here if it can be used....

Just checking - is this a first floor bathroom where the "ceiling void" is actually the loft which can be accessed? If so a JB is allowed because it will be accessible for inspection.

It is in the roof void, next to the enclosed part of the attic - not the easiest access, but possible. To be honest, I'd prefer the type of light fitting he describes, but i really can't find one anywhere, no matter how hard I look. Am I looking in the wrong places?
