Hi. I have a WC with a concealed cistern, and the outlet of the cistern doesn't line up with the pan. Whatever incompetent idiot installed it just put a load of sealant and plumbers mait around the bung, but this started to leak recently (which is how I know about the problem).
One option is to move the cistern across to get it more in line, but there isn't space to get it properly lined up. But how much can the flush pipe be off centre but still get a good seal in the bung?
Option 2 is to find a flexible flush pipe but I can't find one.
Option 3 is to make up a flush pipe. Can't find 38mm stuff anywhere convenient (e.g. Screwfix) so can a flush pipe be made from 40mm solvent-weld pipe? A 90° and 135° bend should give a straight entry to the bung. In principle the only problem there is finding a bung that will take 40mm pipe. Or have I missed something?
