Hopefully somebody out there can help me please....

We have had a part replaced in our boiler and have been advised to flush out the central heating system to prevent the problem happening again.

How easy is this to do?

Do we need to get a plumber to do it?

Thanks in advance

Depends on ur system, in any case the best way is whats known as a powerflush. I have a Kamco powerflusher there are other makes so try them for info on a local 'flowerpusher' tradesman  expect to pay from 250 up to 580 maybe more where you live depending on system size and requirements, and who does it

5-8 hrs work for a regular sort of job

Yes,
If your system is fairly standard DIY is possible but its for top notch DIYers only in my view.

Adding chemicals yourself plus draining, flushing and individual radiator flushing will probably suffice; but sometimes getting the system full again ie. no airlocks can be a lot of a 'bar steward' and theres a risk of getting sludge on your carpets so they had better come up etc. What I'm getting at is that it is a ball ache and the end product isn't as good as a powerflush
