I have no experience with plumbing or radiators but my radiator in the lounge is cold at the bottom. I have read that this can be sludge.

Is it easy to flush them myself or should I get someone in to do it, and how expensive is it if someone does it for me?

Thanks everyone in advance

turn both valves off loosen one end drain the rad into a basin/bucket

take off both ends take rad outside and flush with garden hose :D

btw dont wear good shoes

put down towels, bin bags and dust sheets and stop up the ends of the rad before moving it. The black sludge stain is awful.

.... and before you slacken the valve connections, open the air vent at the top of thee radiator; it will reduce the spluttering and spraying of gloopy black smelly stuff all over your new three piece suite!
