Would be interesting to hear how anyone got on with these doors.

These are the fellas. We have chose the wooden ones as alu ones are guaranteed to get a dink. they want an extra 500 quid to paint/ vanish the windows. very steep.

As they are DIY it is guaranteed you put 95% in and find out they have f^^ked up then spend 4 weeks geeting a replacement or have to drive to their factory in bradford.

Any thoughts as 3 bags isa lot to shell out on rubbish.

Our company once quoted a major pub chain for about a dozen sets of these doors supplied to us from this very same company to fit in various wine bars around the city.
They are stupidly expensive which is probably the reason why we didn't win the contract.
I don't think they are a DIY Fit either and Im pretty sure we were offered a full days training on how to fit these doors correctly.
Unfortunately I can't advise you on problems with these doors but they look like they could be potentially high maintenance if not fitted correctly.

Is there a cheaper company or is the whole idea just completely overpriced as it is new on the market

It's all supply and demand - the prices have come down but still expensive compared to regular french doors.

You pays your money and you take your choice

I have just received my Oak doors form this company and I chose DIY because for 4 doors to fit are opening of 8’ by 6’ 6” they asked £3500 plus £500 extra to fit the seals, hinged and apply the stain, then another £800 to fix, when asked how would they cut my new oak floor out to accepted the tracking they said £800 was just to come and fit the doors into a prepared opening so that would be extra, that would make it over £1000 per door.

The kit arrived on Friday without any instructions so all I had was a soundless video to watch on there site, only trouble with that was mine were a different configuration so it didn’t help at all.
After working out where to start it took me a day to stain and fit the seals and then a day to fit the frame and hang the doors.
The main thing is getting the tracks level and square once you’ve done that the rest is easy.
They look tremendous when fitted but we think they are well over priced , the main reason we paid what we did was because the threshold is 90% flush fitting and the doors are top hung and no other company offered the flush fit made to measure.

Bad Points

You have to order out of the brochure unless you call in at the factory in Bradford.
We asked for them to come and take the measurements but we would have to wait 3 weeks for them to come and pay a further £300 for the privilege.
If you take the measurements yourself then you have to sing to say you agree if it’s wrong it’s down to you, how many people will be confident enough to take there own measurements for lets say £5000 worth of doors.

For the price you pay they should come out with all the literature then fill in the complicated order from with you then you and they no everything is right.

They achieved the look we were looking for but at twice are budget.
Yes I would recommend the doors for design and quality but they are well overpriced.

Sounds like you have issues with this company, I must admit they couldn’t organise a ****up in a Brewery , the sales man told me to add 40mm to the height for the tracking then take off 10mm for clearance, fortunately I asked for a sample of the tracking and it turned out to be 50mm.
I still think the Doors are spot on it’s just the management and sales tactics that need major adjustments.

As with many companies that produce a high volume of products, between 200 and 300 doorsets per week, This Door Company has had problems with staff, machinery, suppliers and transport.

On top of this you have RED TAPE

Environmental - Stock having the correct certification and licenses = £££££

Customs - Stock delayed at the docks by customs until they decide to xray it = £££££

Health and safety - Staff cant lift the telephone unless there is a risk assessment and a manual handling course on how to do it = £££££

ISO9001 - Every job and process has to be documented = £££££

CPD CE - As from 1st February you cannot sell a single window or door without CPD certification and CE approval = £££££

Vigarous testing of all systems for weather, security and u value = £££££

Transport licences, certificates, inspections, repairs and insurances = £££££

Public insurance, Vehicles insurance, employee insurance, B&C insurance, liability insurance and warrenty and fensa insurance = £££££

Machinery, maintenence, repair, servicing, safety = £££££

£2,000,000 invested on new machinery and transport in July 08

PAYE, Pay disputes, staff claims, staff records, staff facilities = £££££

Advertising, printing and website search engine charges = £££££

Life time warrentees, Association fees = £££££

All of this before you even produce a single product that is competitive with the garbage thats out there

As with all companies the quality and the customer come FIRST

Customer satisfaction comes FIRST

The constant strive for excellence comes FIRST

But there is always something or someone that thinks that they do, before all other things and people.

They are not a perfect company, but who is. Its not a perfect product, but what is. Its not a perfect world, but where else can you go.

Taking all this into consideration, It is still the best UKAS tested product out there, with the best quality material and warrentee.

It is manufactured by an ISO9001:2008 company with CPD & CE certified products

Its the largest SPECIALIST manufacturer of folding sliding doors in the UK
