Am I wrong to feel a bit sorry for this chap? Don't think he meant anything by it, just a heat of the moment kiss?

Same here. He was found guilty of sexual assault. Perhaps I'm not woke enough, but wouldn't sexual assault need to involve the (victim's) genitalia?

Didn't she walk away laughing at the time, but then others beyond the incident started to express outrage on her behalf and it snowballed from there, that's my vague recollection, it might not be entirely accurate as I wasn't following it that closely at the time.
