A bit lengthy, but a very well produced video.

Take from it what you will.

But it should at least give a bit of 'food for thought'.

Time will tell. But any government who keeps these temporary powers too long will likely be ousted once public opinion rises against.

Any opposition party would not resist the temptation to run a counter campaign to champion “freedom”. The conservatives did it on ID cards and speed camera pyramid schemes.

Well given that the video is 50 minutes long, can I assume you've seen it before?

The difference now is that there is no effective 'opposition' in most western 'democracies' because this is global!

The public bought the Brexit lies and in four years they will buy the next set.

You can get a flavour of what the video is going to be about after a few minutes.
If you want to address specific points you do need to watch the whole video.
If you're not interested, either because you agree, or can't be bothered to disagree, you just don't comment at all.

I think you guys have run your course now. I don’t think many could care any less about all your threads. Same ol same ol everyday. It’s all to obvious.

Being that a significant number of posters are, or appear to be living in other countries and a significant number are living in this country but don't, by their own admission, want to be here but cannot be bothered to get out not only have they run their courses but they have no right to be commenting one way or the other anyway.

And then turn off if that 'flavour is not to your liking?

One needs to watch/learn as much as possible in order to keep an open mind!

Most of it is factual, and a lot of it spoken by the ' key players' in interviews or speeches that back up many of the claims...

Of course there are those that cry 'conspiracy theory', but a lot of it is coming true at a faster rate because of the 'virus'...

And you can believe what you like about the origins or voracity of said 'virus', but still see that happening if you have an open mind!

People are slowly being conditioned 'not to care' because of the ramped up rhetoric against those who won't accept something at face value.

And the ramping up of penalties in a world where 'rule by decree' is becoming the 'new normal'!

Of course those who 'can't be bothered' will one day wake up and say 'how did that all happen'?

Thank 'God' we 'have' you 'spreading' the 'word' and 'educating' us 'on' a 'plumbers forum'!

It would be difficult to disagree with the majority of what you've said. But you are in danger of conflating what I've said with me disagreeing with what you've said. I only pointed out that one can get a flavour of a video within a few minutes of watching it. One does not need to watch the whole video to disagree with the 'raison d'etre' of the video.

To address your viewpoint:
One can be in a state of being wary and aware, but just think that the time is not yet at that point that action needs to be taken.
And before you say it, I am well aware of the, "then they came for me" argument. But the democratic process still works and elections are still the right method to agree or disagree to policies. And if more urgent action is required, then there is peaceful protest.

Of course those who 'can't be bothered' will one day wake up and say 'how did that all happen'?
There is always that possibility. And one can be aware and wary. But your prediction is not an inevitability. It may be you that is wrong.

As long as they take place, although the electoral system in the UK is not exactly a democratic one...

And Local/Mayoral/PCC elections are likely to be 'postponed' again this year, and who knows what will happen with the next GE...

The Emergency legislation allows for 'flexibility'...

As for 'peaceful protest' then that is effectively banned, and has never really succeeded. It's only when the establishment is truly threatened do they act!

Sadly a lot of what is in that video has come to pass...

Take for example the use of surveillance techniques 'in the name of the virus'...

Prediction has become reality in some countries and is spreading...

"Civil servants also discussed Poland's 'enhanced isolation' system, in which people are contacted daily and told to send a picture of themselves where they are isolating.
The pictures are cross-referenced using GPS data and facial-recognition software and are visited by police within 20 minutes if they fail to comply.
Officials discussed the ideas at a meeting on Thursday and it is understood the technology would be confined to new arrivals, not anyone ordered to self-isolate in the UK. "

But what happens when the technology becomes 'useful' in other ways?
