But the democratic process still works and elections are still the right method to agree or disagree to policies. And if more urgent action is required, then there is peaceful protest.
As long as they take place, although the electoral system in the UK is not exactly a democratic one...
And Local/Mayoral/PCC elections are likely to be 'postponed' again this year, and who knows what will happen with the next GE...

As for 'peaceful protest' then that is effectively banned, and has never really succeeded. It's only when the establishment is truly threatened do they act!
There is always that possibility. And one can be aware and wary. But your prediction is not an inevitability. It may be you that is wrong.
