Hello, can anyone help? My 98 escort leaks water in the boot when it rains. I have tried to seal round the rear washer and round the rear screen. It's driving me mad! Any ideas anyone?

Is it deffo leaking from the boot cover? Could it be leaking in through the light unit seal?
Another way to trace a leak if you can't see where it is coming from is to dab some talc around the suspect area and use a hosepipe (might be better waiting for the weather to warm up a bit if you don't fancy creating a skating rink!)

I`d get some one to put a hosepipe on the suspected area, and you sit inside the boot looking to where the water is coming in, you`ll narow it down then and be able to repair the problem, make sure you park the car as you usually do, sometimes uphill down hill makes a difference as to no leak some leak................

ive got a 96/7 escort 5 door hatch, theres water comin in rear passanger side of boot. theres a piece of plastic trim under the carpet kinda in line with the bumper. its comin in wen it rains from under the trim and its still in the driveway.....do you think im going to have to take off the bumper and get the mastick gun out or a big lump of semtex to....its doin my tits in. cheers
