ford fiesta st 150 charge light on

hi i have a fiesta 2007 st 150
it was over charging like 16.8v
i changed the altenator now it charges at 13.6v which is cool but 30 seconds after start up the charge light comes on and it is still at 13.86v please help

Throw it back to Ford - Its still undr the manufacturing warranty.

iirc the charge light is driven from the alternator so sounds like that is still faulty.

i would love to throw it back to the ford dealer but it was at 3 different dealers 5 times and they could not give me an answer...not about the charge light but why the cars head lights were flashing and why it would cut out and splutter that was the altenator over charging.i then got a new altenator from ford fitted it and then the charge light came on but the car was fixed any way i found the fault... my bad the plug was not all the way home in the back of the altenator now it is 100%
