Ford Focus Oil Light Problem

I have a 1999 Ford Focus Diesel 1.8 which has just had a new clutch fitted and oil changed. Once the engine has warmed up the oil light comes on & will not go off. Took car back to the garage and a thicker grade of oil was put in. Car runs great but still have the same problem with the light. Any suggestions please as I do not wish to spend a lot of money.

Try changing the "oil pressure switch".

did the oil light ever come on before they changed it?
make sure its the correct grade

No, the light has never come while driving, even after previous oil changes. Hope it is a faulty switch.

First thing to do, without hesitation, is get the garage to do an oil pressure test. If the pressure is low, then all the time it's running you will be doing damage.
If that comes back ok, then change the oil presure switch.
