They are generally fine, and they have a timing chain rather than a belt. The sumps rust through (2000 to 2005 models) and oil filter changes are messy. Regular antifreeze changes are recommended to prevent corrosion around the head gasket area, and general servicing is a breeze.
Like everything else though, it needs to have some sort of service history - unlikely when you see the garbage that comes through my doors!
