Hi Guys,

I have a fountain to repair in the next couple of weeks, it's have a good clean out then it needs re-painting, just looking for some advice on what to paint it with and how far back I need to go with the old paint ( just remove flaky bits or more ).

There are no fish in here or animals so it doesn't need to be over friendly but it is in a school.

After removing the water and debris, pressure jet the flaking areas, dry thoroughly, then apply a seamless coating of black bitumastic paint, applied with a roller, there are several roofing paints that will give a waterproof finish.

Cheers for the heads up Wotan,

I've had a look and screwfix do a cheap tin

I've got quite an area to cover and as it's a school it's go to be reasonable.

I'm making a start on cleaning it tomorrow, drained it last Friday so if the weather holds should be rollering thurs/fri this week ;)

Update :

Well the weather here has been awful sdo I have not managed to paint yet although it has had a good wash down.
Screwfix did not have anything in stock when I went there so I had a look in wickes as I had other stuff to get, they had this tub and much cheaper !

I have to get this done by the end of the week so will post an update later
Looks good that should certainly do the job.
