Evening.

I always find good help on here so thanks in advance.

I have two uPVC double glazed window that I wanted to get a frame extender 10 or 15mm high.

The reason is that I need to trim down the soldier course to bed in an outer leaf lintel.

Should only be a 15mm max trim.

Trouble is I have no idea who manufactured the original windows. They were here on moving in. Probably > 10 yo. The only marking readily visible are the cotswold hinges.

The depth of the frame appears to be about 65mm with two inner beads if the inside of the window is indicative of the frame at the top.

I suppose the other choice is some expanding foam and uvPVC architrave trim just for the top seal.

I can post photos in the morning if it is likely to allow identification. How many types of frame extenders are there? Rang a local place and they said they carry it for their windows which use duraflex...

Thanks for any pointers.

Most are 70mm these days, the hinges could be used on any profile, pack the window up from underneath if you don't want a trim at the top, use foam anyway it's a fitters best friend

Thanks.

Yes, only thing is I wasn't going to remove the window. Only remove the top brickwork. But could still pack and fit trim to top. Don't think it would be too noticebable if I can do a decent job with the trim and caulking gun..
