Freestanding full size dishwasher with a depth less than 60 cm

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could please help us source a full size freestanding dishwasher with a depth of 57 or 58 cm depending on how generous the recess/overhang is at the back. The dishwasher should also be flat at the front no concave door or sticking out handles.

The issue we have is with the kitchen layout, the dishwasher is near the corner and if the dishwasher sticks out we are unable open the adjacent drawers.

We have Kenwood KDW60B13 in place but it's been fixed once and is malfunctioning again so it is time to replace it. Unfortunately this model is no longer available.

Preferably we would like silver or black but open to options as long as it fits. Re-arranging the kitchen is not an option.

Remove the plaster at the back of the dishwasher to give you the depth you need?

Is it ok to operate it like that? Also I worry that removing that will not give it enough clearance as that will make space in the middle but how far back it gets pushed would be limited by the frame. I haven't seen too many dishwashers without the back but the ones I have it appears that the edges would still occupy the same amount of space.

We have found a Gorenje dishwasher that has 58 depth.

We have also contemplated an integrated or semi integrated too; but this also require panel, plinth and handle installation. We would probably just assume the contrast here as matching our existing kitchen would be near impossible.

Do you know if you have to cut panels to size for semi integrated dishwashers or are pre cut panels available?

I don't think you understand what I mean......

I meant remove the plaster on the wall to take it back to brick at the back of the dishwasher to give you the depth you need so you can buy any dishwasher

I didn't mean remove anything off the dishwasher .....

Thank you, yes I had misunderstood you - unfortunately that's not possible due to pipes and electrics running at the back. I think we will go for an integrated one.

Its more than possible bit more work but certainly doable

@Turnyourtvoff wondering what you done in the end? I appreciate the problem had to contemplate, I have been shocked at how modern day dishwashers are all minimum 59-60cm depth. There is much more size variance with fridge freezers and plenty flexibility.

You could divert the pipes to run at the bottom of the wall; appliances have a recess there exactly for this.
remove plaster if needed even more space.
And for an extra inch, you can cut the overhang of the dishwasher top panel.
Done many times.

I noticed by chest freezer has 2 random plastic sticky out bits at back top on either end. Its 2" of extra depthspace if saw off, I have no idea what purpose they may serve.

I'm hoping a dishwasher purchase may have a similar space saving opportunity. Trouble is if your buying online you just don't know and are blind here.

I have no idea what purpose they may serve.

They are to allow for a ventilation space at the rear which is important for freezers.

@denso13 that indeed does make much sense, this particular freezer does generate a lot of heat. Good to know now

When my mum replaced her Miele washing machine with a newer model I had to hack away the plaster. The bulge was deeper than the previous model. So deep that it expended past the washing machine lid (first time I had ever seen that).
