depending on which door opens first normally the slave door will have an extra piece onthe side which incorporates the lock keeps this closes first if you open this door on the top and bottom of frame you will see the lock keeps these are for the shootbolts on top and bottom of door if you adjust these further in to the frame either with an allen key or screw driver this will pull slave door in tight on the main door you have adjustments on the lock mech (cams) these are normally adjusted with an allen key this is trial and error also on the lock keep side you may have adjustments again this is trial and error
no the slave door opens second, the slave door will have a part screwed into it called a t-bar or lap bar, this is what the locking door locks into. the slave door needs to be fastened in by the shoot bolts fairly tightly.
I had the same problem with a set of french doors, because the doors were still under warranty I got the double glazing company to send the service enginner out to fix the problem.
He showed me how to adjust them myslef if needed in the future. Open the door and look at it side on and you will see the locking bolts that move up and down when you lift the door handle. These locking bolts are on a cam and if you turn them with an allen key they move from side to side, so by adjusting them the door will be pulled tighter when the door handle is lifted and it should seal any gaps at the top and bottom of the door if adjusted correctly.
