French equivilant for English Thistle plaster?

We have some English workmen coming over to do some plastering on our house in France. They want us to source Thistle plaster. We have had problems before with French plaster setting too quickly. Does anyone know if we can buy Thistle plaster in France or a suitable alternative?

Something doesn't add up here. I'm suspicious by nature, but it does sound to me like the people you hired in the past weren't upto scratch. If the stuff was no good, surely the French wouldn't be using it? Were they plasterers or general builders? I've worked with both, and have seen the difference in speed/ability.
