French/Italian plumbing connections?

Hi Guys,

can I use an electric hot water tank (e.g. Ariston made) bought in French and/or Italy here in UK?

My question regards more the plumbing side and not the electrical.


I know for fact that in Italy the connection is 1/2 inch.

Any useful advice?

They mak a lot of fittings for the uk in italy, and my understanding they use BSP threads there too. Though why would you want to import a water tank from France or Italy?

I was going to ask but as I couldnt answer the origional question, I thought it best keep my big mouth shut.

well it is same reason as before. I am pretty sure Oilman you have seen my previuos mails about the hot water tank.

The reason is simple: money.
The cheapest I found in UK is from Ariston (50 L): 268 pounds + VAT.
Exactly the same (cause they are the same) is only 100 euros


How about that as a reason?
