Not a yank no, although I've been called a yanker lots of times. (or that's what it sounded like anyway)

The book was cobblers, baloney, codswallop, b******s - whatever term you want.

As are all of his others.

Which is not, per se, a terrible thing.

But what is utterly unforgiveable is that they are all such badly written cobblers, baloney, codswallop, b******s...

I enjoy reading, but had a hard time getting through this book, I had to force myself to carry on reading it, as everyone was talking about it, so thought I would read it, never again, it was a chore to get to the end.

That's tame. I was called an ukingfay arstad bay yesterday. Think the guy was Welsh.

This is not true. The book contains many truths, but also many untruths on very closely related subjects. He said "The Church did this..." which is true and in the next paragraph "The Church did this also..." which is untrue. The first part of the book is closer to truth, but the second part is somewhat fantastical.

I have studied the Bible, Qur'an and the Torah as well as the teachings of other religions in great detail and also related texts, so I know what they have/haven't done, have/haven't said and what is b******s and what isn't. I knew it before the book came out. I did this because I like to know what I am talking about if I talk about something, and there are so many out there who think they do, but they do not.

That is true. He, along with his editor and proof readers, should be shot.

The main problem is Brown presents it all as fact, and worse because he knows it isn't.

Is it not , I just got my left footer away to my C/E Lot for our do , dont tell her different ...:)

As Colin Murray said on Radio 1 today, the only good thing about the book is that it proves Jesus wasn't gay.

Like a lot of novels it had the odd grain of ´truth` or ´historical fact` thrown in but essentially its a work of fiction, did it claim to be otherwise?.....just as a side note - preferred Angels and Demons!

Book was easy reading pap that a lot of people enjoyed. Also read Angels & Demons...talk about writing to a formula...not much different to Da vinci Code! Much better authors out there, but if it does get people who otherwise wouldn't read into books I'm all for it.

That many people actually took it seriously shows how gullible people can be.

I've heard the film is pants but I quite enjoyed the book. What I couldn't understand was all the talk about it, after all it's only a novel. Why did all these people talk and write about uncovered truths and revelations and the re-writing of history? Did the same people, after reading Lord of the Rings, go off in search of hobbits or talk about the true location of Isengard? I think not!
