Fridge hole

I picked up a fridge freezer on gumtree yesterday, but the draining hole at the back goes all the way through to the outside. Struggling to get back to the other party on gumtree. Not worried about losing money, it was ultra low cost. But would like it to work without the hole.

That is quite normal. The water exits the insulated compartment and is usually deposited via a pipe into a small tray that sits above the compressor. As the compressor gets quite hot, the collected water evaporates to atmosphere.

There should however, be a tube that connects it to the drain tray.
